New Year's Celebrations

Last night to ring in the New Year Raju and I headed over to his friends Josh and Carrie who were having a small gathering at their new(ish) house. I was hoping that Diana would have joined us but she was feeling under the weather.
Another couple who live on the east side called and said they were going to take a cab and do we want to split it. Of course we agreed. 1 hour later though we were still waiting and decided to walk out and take the streetcar. Luck was on our side and there was a cab on Broadview. We got to their house and it looked very dark but Raju said, no it was definitely their house. If you look closely at the picture you will see a giant screen in the background. That is how they have set up their 'TV". There is a projector on the ceiling and then the screen which pulls down covers the front window. Of course, this is something Raju now wants. He'll be waiting a loooong time before I allow him to have that.
The new year came and went and I had no trouble getting through to my family on the cell phone. Normally the lines are so busy you can't get through to anyone. We headed home at about 12:30 and were tucked safely in our bed by 1:15a.m.
Today we went for the annual Rayman holiday celebration at my cousins' house in Pickering. It's great because we don't have to rush around on Christmas to see everyone and get to drag out the celebrations by celebrating on New Year's day. The big cousins have a gift exchange and now the little cousins are doing the same. There were so many new babies this year. It's amazing how the family has grown so much over the years. We had a great time as usual.
