These days I don't remember when long weekends are happening. Family day just crept up on me. Saturday (18th) was my Mom's birthday so we had the family over to our house. The menu included butternut squash soup, stuffed mushrooms, crab curry, chicken creeps, caesar salad, chicken nuggets and mushroom lasagna. For dessert we had chocolate cupcakes and some sort of coconut cake. It was great to have everyone over. Samara did fairly well but may have found it a bit busy at times. Sometimes the running kids startled her.
Sunday I got some girl tme in with Sally and Diana. We met up for brunch at Joy. It was great. It's not often I get out without the baby these days. Thanks ladies for the girl chat. It was very much needed.
Monday we headed out to Pickering to visit with the in-laws. It was a nice visit and Samara enjoyed her time with her grand-parents. We stopped in at my parents on the way home as they are both under the weather. Raju had made some fish stew so we dropped some off.
Family Day weekend was definitely filled with time spent with loved ones, just as it was intended.
